Orthodontic Force Prediction

Description

Orthodontic treatment involves use of external appliances to move and rotate teeth so that a better alignment is obtained. The external appliances can be braces or plastic aligner, both of which use their stored elastic energy to transfer force on the tooth crown. However, the gum around the tooth root resists tooth movement. The root resistance (in terms of force system) is unique for each combination of tooth translation and rotation. This software app input the basic geometry of teeth and desired tooth movement of crown i.e. translations and rotations. The output is force and moments required to obtain desired tooth movement.
