FRP (Fibre-Reinforced Plastic) composite is a material, wherein a polymer based binding resins like epoxy or phenolic are reinforced with glass or carbon fibres. The resulting FRP composite offer a high strength to weight ratio compared to conventional metals. Approximate mechanical properties of FRP composite are estimated using rule-of-mixture method. The software based on rule-of-mixture method requires input of physical properties for resin, material properties of fiber mats and mass ratios. The output from software are equivalent elastic constants, allowable loadings and equivalent physical properties.
