Air knife generates a sheet of high-speed air jet that is used for multiple operations like drying products on a conveyer line or blowing-off debris. Air knife’s design feature a plenum & long narrow slot, which supplied air from a blower. The design calculation for air knife solves for diffusion of laminar planar jet, pressure drop across nozzle slot and performance characteristics of blower. The software input dimensions of air knife nozzle, blower data & details of duct between blower & air-knife. The output from air knife software is air jet velocity as function of distance from the nozzle.
